Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has just released the trailer for his upcoming film “Sardaar Ji 3”, which features renowned Pakistan actress Hania Aamir in a leading role.
The film is scheduled for release overseas on June 27.
It is pertinent to note that Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh was facing severe backlash from the Indian film fraternity, particularly the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), over reports that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir features in his upcoming film “Sardaar Ji 3”.
Earlier in April following the Pahalgam attack, it was reported that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s much-anticipated Bollywood film “Abir Gulaal” will not release in India, government sources confirmed.
This was not the first time cross-border collaborations have sparked controversy. Similar instances followed the 2016 Uri and 2019 Pulwama attacks, with major films like “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and “Raees” facing boycotts due to casting Pakistani actors.
