Legendary Pakistani actor and producer Asif Raza Mir, whose career spans more than 50 years, recently addressed his family’s much-talked-about past in a rare public statement.
Appearing on a talk show, the veteran star opened up about working with his former daughter-in-law, Sajal Aly, following her divorce from his son, Ahad Raza Mir.
Asif Raza Mir revealed that he and Sajal are currently working together on the much-anticipated drama “Main Manto Nahin Hoon”, where he plays the role of her father. Acknowledging that questions were raised when the casting was announced, he explained that both he and Sajal made a conscious decision to move forward with maturity and professionalism.
“There’s no use crying over spilled milk,” Asif said, adding that the project is a growing opportunity for both of them. He also commended Sajal Aly for her courage and grace, saying that it takes strength to navigate such situations and still give your best to a role.
Addressing the recent viral videos of Ahad and Sajal appearing together at an event, Asif Raza Mir stated that his family chooses not to get affected by such clips. “We are mature enough not to dwell on it,” he said. “Relationships sometimes work and sometimes don’t. The important thing is to heal and move on—without scratching old wounds.”
