Police have arrested the murderer of young TikToker Sana Yousaf with the help of technical tools and CCTV footage, sources confirmed.
According to police sources, the suspect was traced and taken into custody during a late-night operation.
The accused, who hails from Punjab, had prior contact with the victim, indicating a personal link between the two.
Initial investigations reveal that the motive behind the killing was a personal grudge.
The police have also recovered the murder weapon from the suspect’s possession.
Authorities stated that the arrest was made possible through a detailed analysis of CCTV footage from the crime scene, along with other technological evidence.
Killer tracked and arrested in Faisalabad using mobile data and CCTV evidence
Islamabad Police arrested the prime suspect, Umar Hayat, from Jaranwala, Faisalabad.
According to police sources, Umar has confessed to the crime during initial interrogation.
The suspect was traced using CCTV footage, mobile phone location data, and other technical evidence.
The alleged murder weapon—a pistol—was also recovered from his possession.
Authorities revealed that Umar and Sana had been in contact for some time, and the murder was premeditated.
On the day of the incident, Umar reportedly parked his motorcycle near Sana’s house in Sector G-13 and fled the scene on it after committing the crime.
CCTV footage captured the suspect running away from the location on foot, which helped narrow down the investigation.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Islamabad Police for arresting the suspect within 20 hours, calling the swift action commendable.

The body of TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was murdered yesterday in Sector G-13, Islamabad, has been sent to her native town in Upper Chitral. Islamabad Police have widened the scope of their investigation into the killing.
According to police sources, CCTV footage from multiple locations has been collected, including surveillance cameras in G-13 and Safe City cameras along the Expressway. The footage is being reviewed to trace the suspect’s movements before and after the incident.
Sana Yousaf was found murdered inside her residence in G-13. A case has been registered at the Sumbal Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s mother. The FIR has been filed against an unknown assailant.
