At the Global Digital Economy Conference in Beijing, Aslam Chaudhary, Economic Minister at Pakistan’s Embassy, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to building digitally friendly cities that prioritize both technology and inclusivity. He highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to extend digital services to remote areas through initiatives like the inclusive service fund and optical cable expansion to 22,000 villages. Chaudhary announced three key initiatives: enhancing cross-border data flow, promoting inclusive digital development in sectors like agriculture and healthcare, and boosting digital talent training under the CPEC framework. He proposed a Digital Friendly City Innovation Centre with branches in Beijing, Islamabad, and Karachi, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to collaborate globally—especially with China—on advancing the digital economy.
