Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal emphasized Pakistan and China’s commitment to elevating the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into a model of high-quality development. Speaking at a high-level workshop in Beijing, he highlighted CPEC’s transformative impact over the past decade, including the addition of 8,904 MW of power, 888 kilometers of completed highways, and the development of Gwadar as a smart port city. He underscored the role of digital connectivity, with fiber optic infrastructure enabling Pakistan’s digital transformation, and noted the creation of over 200,000 jobs through CPEC projects. Looking ahead, he stressed expanding collaboration in technology, green development, and regional connectivity to align with emerging global priorities.
