Sajjad Mehdi, the son of legendary ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan, passed away on Monday in Lahore after suffering a severe heart attack, leaving his family, colleagues, and admirers in deep grief.
According to family sources, Sajjad Mehdi had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time. He was rushed to hospital after complaining of chest pain but could not survive despite medical treatment, doctors confirmed.
Medical staff later stated that he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.
Senior police officer
Family sources revealed that Sajjad Mehdi was serving as a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in the Punjab Police. He was known among colleagues for his professional conduct, dedication, and public service.
The funeral prayers of Sajjad Mehdi will be offered on Tuesday after Zuhr prayers. According to the family, the prayers will be held at a private housing society near Wapda Town, also identified as PIA Colony, in Lahore.
