A sessions court in Multan has sentenced Ali Raza, husband of Sania Zahra, to death for her murder.
The order came from Additional Sessions Judge Mohsin Ali Khan. The court also sentenced the victim’s brother-in-law, Haider Raza, and mother-in-law, Azra Parveen, to life imprisonment.
Police brought Ali Raza before the court while in custody. Those acquitted included the victim’s father-in-law, Jeevan Shah; her sister-in-law, Dua Zahra; and the convict’s former wife, Madiha.
It is pertinent to note that Sania Zahra’s body, found with a noose around her neck, came to light on July 9, 2024 in a room of her marital home.
Police named six persons in the case, among them her husband Ali Raza, her brother-in-law Haider Raza and her mother-in-law Azra Parveen. The case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Asad Abbas Shah.
