Pakistani actor Mehwish Hayat has explained why she maintains a relatively limited presence on social media, saying she prefers to share updates occasionally rather than document every aspect of her life online.
During a recent interview, the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani star said she typically posts every two to three weeks, adding that sharing content less frequently helps maintain her audience’s interest.
“I post every two to three weeks because I feel like people get bored. They should always be wanting more,” she said.
The actor also said her approach reflects a personal preference for privacy, emphasising that she does not believe in oversharing on social media.

Hayat explained that while social media provides celebrities with a way to connect with fans, she prefers to maintain a boundary between her public image and private life.
“It also comes from the fact that I don’t like to overshare,” she said.
The actor added that her professional commitments and engagement with fans already take up a significant amount of her time, making it important to reserve some time for herself.
“Also, I really love my own time because I give so much time to my work and my fans. If I give the rest of my time to social media, what’s left for me?” she said.
Her comments highlight her preference for a more selective approach to online engagement, allowing her to remain connected with followers without feeling the need to post constantly.
