Apple’s upcoming OLED iPad mini could go on sale on Friday, November 6, according to a report citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The expected launch date follows reports that Apple is preparing to unveil several new devices in late October.
Gurman, Bloomberg’s chief Apple correspondent, highlighted a scheduled Apple Store reset running from the evening of Thursday, November 5, into Friday, November 6. Such preparations typically involve updated product displays, new signage and the placement of newly launched devices.
Apple reportedly preparing several new devices
At least some of the products expected to go on sale on November 6 include:
- An OLED iPad mini.
- Touchscreen MacBooks.
- An M6 iMac.
- An M6 14-inch MacBook Pro.
Apple is reportedly planning an influencer dinner on Tuesday, October 27, followed by an all-day event on Wednesday, October 28. These dates are expected to coincide with the announcement of the new devices, although Apple has not officially confirmed the reported schedule.
OLED display could raise the iPad mini’s price
The upcoming iPad mini is expected to replace the current model with an OLED display, bringing deeper blacks and improved contrast compared with traditional LCD technology.
The device could reportedly cost around $799, although Apple has yet to announce official pricing.
The proposed release timeline is consistent with Apple’s previous launch schedule. The current iPad mini was announced on October 15, 2024, and became available on October 23, eight days later. A similar gap between announcement and retail availability would support the reported November 6 date.
However, the release date, specifications and pricing of the OLED iPad mini remain unconfirmed by Apple.
