Laura Brand, the wife of British comedian Russell Brand, has spoken about her experience facing photographers and reporters outside court, after media coverage referred to her as a “mystery woman”.
In a video shared on Russell Brand’s X account early Sunday, Laura, 39, joked about the label, pointing out that the couple have been married for seven years.
Describing the scene outside court, she said the presence of paparazzi, journalists and onlookers created a feeling similar to standing at the centre of a storm.
Laura said she was fascinated by storms and explained that the eye of a storm becomes “absolutely silent” when it reaches land.
Who is Laura Brand?
Laura Brand is the daughter of Scottish golfer and former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher and the younger sister of television presenter Kirsty Gallacher.
Raised in Surrey, she previously worked in restaurant and nightclub management before becoming an author and illustrator. In 2020, she published The Joy Journal for Magical Everyday Play, which later developed into a lifestyle brand.
Laura has largely stepped away from public social media, having closed her main public accounts.
Russell Brand faces sexual offence charges
Laura has remained alongside her husband as legal proceedings continue. Russell Brand, 51, was charged in April 2025 with three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault. He denies the allegations.
The charges remain allegations, and the case is subject to the legal process.
Their relationship and family
Laura and Russell briefly dated in 2007 before reconnecting in 2015. They married in August 2017 and have three children together.
The family reportedly moved to a bungalow in Florida late last year as Russell’s legal case continued.
