Apple and Google are set to go head-to-head again in the premium smartphone market, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL expected to offer upgraded processors, improved cameras and longer battery life.
Google has already introduced the Pixel 11 Pro XL, while Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year.
Based on currently available reports and leaks, Apple’s upcoming flagship appears to have an edge in several hardware areas, particularly its processor and battery capacity. Google, meanwhile, is introducing its distinctive HiLight LED feature and a strong camera setup.
Here are the major differences expected between the two phones.
Design
Neither Apple nor Google is expected to dramatically change the design language of its flagship phones.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to retain the aluminium construction and large rear camera plateau introduced with recent Pro models.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL continues Google’s aluminium-and-glass design, with its signature camera strip across the rear. One notable addition is the HiLight LED, positioned on the camera bar.
