Beyoncé has paid an emotional tribute to country music legend Dolly Parton following her death on August 25.
Taking to her website, the 44-year-old singer remembered Parton as “bold, brilliant, talented and tenacious” while describing the country icon as an inspiration to generations of artists.
“Dolly, you were the barometer. The north star,” Beyoncé wrote.
The Single Ladies hitmaker thanked Parton for showing people how to embrace their individuality and praised her artistic and entrepreneurial achievements.
“You taught so many lessons on how to be uniquely oneself. I am grateful for your art, your heart, your generosity, your humour, your entrepreneurship,” she wrote.
Beyoncé also reflected on her opportunity to work with the country music star.
“I’m honored that I had the privilege to work with you. I will treasure that forever,” she added.

Beyoncé and Dolly Parton worked together on Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s eighth studio album.
The album went on to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, further highlighting the connection between the two music icons.
In her tribute, Beyoncé thanked Parton for her lasting influence and the happiness she brought to audiences around the world.
“Thank you for your profound impact on the world. You are an angel who has made this world a happier place because of your joyful art. You are truly one of one. Rest peacefully,” Beyoncé wrote.
