Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, leading a delegation, called on Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, with both sides discussing ways to strengthen defence and security cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest as well as the prevailing security situation in the region.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding fraternal ties with Syria and shared the country’s perspective on global peace and regional stability. He also stressed the importance of closer cooperation and joint efforts to address shared security challenges.
The Syrian foreign minister appreciated the professional role of the Pakistan Army in supporting regional peace and stability.
During the meeting, Pakistan and Syria reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation and engagement in the defence and security sectors.
The two sides expressed their resolve to continue joint efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
