The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has approved the supply of wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
The Ministry of National Food Security has completed arrangements for the provision of wheat to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain said the supply of wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reflects the prime minister’s public welfare policies in practical terms.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would receive wheat at the official price fixed at the beginning of the year. Hussain said the federal government continued to take effective measures to ensure the availability of affordable wheat for the public.
It is pertinent to note that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday directed the Ministry of National Food Security to provide wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco).
