ISLAMABAD (DI NEWS) : The German Ambassador to Pakistan visited the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences (COAVS), Mayo Hospital Lahore, where he inaugurated the CBM-funded Cataract Support Programme aimed at expanding quality eye care services across 45 districts of Punjab. During the visit, the ambassador praised the institution’s efforts in combating avoidable blindness and strengthening community-based vision care. The programme, supported by Germany’s Christoffel-Blindenmission (CBM), is expected to enhance access to cataract treatment and eye health services for thousands of underserved patients. The visit underscored the strong Pakistan-Germany partnership in public health and reaffirmed their shared commitment to improving eye care and restoring sight across Punjab.
