A spell of rain brought pleasant weather to Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday, providing relief from the heat as light showers were reported in several areas of the twin cities.
The rainfall, accompanied by cool winds, significantly reduced temperatures and improved weather conditions across the region.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), intermittent rain is expected to continue, while the district administration is closely monitoring the situation in low-lying areas, including Nullah Lai.
Authorities said all relevant departments have been placed on alert to respond to any emergency situation, with drainage systems being monitored to prevent urban flooding during the rain spell.
Meanwhile, clouds have also gathered over Lahore, where the Met Office has forecast intermittent rainfall over the next two days.
The department said Lahore’s temperature is expected to range between 24°C and 36°C on Thursday, while the current temperature in the city was recorded at 32°C. Officials expressed hope that the expected rainfall would provide respite from the prevailing heat.
