Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has responded to social media backlash surrounding his upcoming film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, saying he would never be part of a “regressive” project.
The actor, widely known for choosing socially relevant and unconventional films, addressed criticism that the movie promotes infidelity and chaotic relationships.

In an interview with Mathrubhumi English, the Andhadhun star defended the film and explained that audiences may have misunderstood its core message.
“I have always been part of progressive cinema. I will never be part of a film that is regressive. We are not glorifying infidelity with Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. It’s more of a comedy of errors,” Ayushmann said.
The actor further clarified that the story focuses on a “green flag” husband who goes to great lengths to protect his wife, rather than celebrating cheating or toxic behavior.
Trailer sparked online debate
The controversy began after the trailer of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do triggered criticism on social media, with some users questioning how relationships and infidelity were being portrayed in the film.
Despite the backlash, Ayushmann maintained that the film has been misunderstood and insisted that its intention is comedic rather than regressive.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film also stars Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in leading roles alongside Ayushmann.
The project marks another addition to Ayushmann’s filmography, which is often associated with socially conscious and unconventional storytelling.
