30 members of the Democratic Party in the United States have called for a clear position on Israel’s nuclear weapons.
In a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the lawmakers stated that the continued silence and ambiguity regarding Israel’s nuclear arsenal must be addressed. They said that maintaining military ties with Israel while remaining silent on its nuclear capability reflects a lack of transparency in policy.
The letter demanded that full information be provided regarding nuclear balance and any potential risk of conflict. It added that the current administration has not supplied adequate details on nuclear equilibrium or war-related assessments.
Separately, US officials have raised questions over former president Donald Trump’s Iran policy, stating that his strategy to compel Iran to relinquish weapons is based on a misunderstanding.
