Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have seized two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media reported that one vessel, MSC Francesca, is owned by Israel, while the other was sailing under a Panamanian flag. Both vessels are being moved from open waters towards the Iranian coast.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency stated that three vessels came under fire in the Strait of Hormuz earlier in the day; however, the ships and their crews remained unharmed.
The agency reported that a vessel was also attacked 15 nautical miles off the coast of Oman. An Iranian Revolutionary Guards gunboat attempted to encircle the ship and opened fire, causing severe damage to the bridge. No fire broke out on board and the crew remained safe.
