Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will review troop formations along Chang’an Avenue during the upcoming military parade, a Chinese official announced on Wednesday.
Wu Zeke, a senior officer in the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, announced at a Wednesday press conference about preparations for a military parade scheduled in Beijing on September 3. The event will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
