Australia is set to tour Pakistan for a white-ball series next year, Cricket Australia (CA) Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg confirmed.
Speaking to media representatives, Greenberg emphasised the importance of maintaining strong cricketing ties between the two nations. “The series against Pakistan is an important part of our schedule,” he stated.
While specific dates and venues are yet to be finalised, the tour is expected to feature limited-overs matches — including One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
In addition to the confirmed white-ball series, Greenberg hinted at the possibility of a future red-ball tour. “There have been good discussions for the red-ball series as well,” he said, adding that both boards are working closely to expand bilateral cricket engagements.
Reflecting on Australia’s last tour of Pakistan in 2022 — their first in 24 years — the CA chief praised the experience, calling it a landmark moment for international cricket in the region.
“The 2022 tour of Pakistan was fantastic,” he remarked, recalling the successful Test and limited-overs matches played in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi.
Greenberg also acknowledged the growing presence and talent of Pakistani cricketers in global leagues, particularly the Big Bash League (BBL).
“We will welcome as many Pakistani players as possible to the Big Bash,” he said, underscoring Cricket Australia’s intent to foster inclusivity and diversity in its premier T20 competition.
