The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced that theory papers of Intermediate Part-II and practical examinations of matric classes will resume from May 8 as per the already issued date sheet.
According to a circular issued on Tuesday, the papers scheduled for May 7 were postponed due to security concerns in light of the prevailing tensions between Pakistan and India. However, the board clarified that the remaining examinations will proceed as planned.
“In pursuance of the directions of the Competent Authority/worthy Secretary Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab/Chairman PBCC, it is hereby notified… that the theory papers of Intermediate Part-II and practicals of Secondary School Certificate (First Annual) Examinations, 2025 shall be conducted as per the date sheet and roll number slips on May 8 onwards,” the circular stated.
The intermediate theory papers to be held on May 8 include Chemistry, Geology, and Health & Physical Education in the morning session, and Chemistry, Statistics, and Library Science in the evening session. Meanwhile, the practical exams for Biology, Computer Science, and Food and Nutrition at the matric level will also take place as scheduled.
Students have been directed to appear at their designated examination centres and laboratories at the time mentioned on their roll number slips. The board emphasized that no changes have been made to centres or timings for the exams resuming from May 8.
BISE Lahore further said that a revised schedule for the papers postponed on May 7 will be issued at a later date.
The announcement comes amid concerns expressed by students and parents regarding potential disruptions in the examination schedule following regional tensions. However, the board assured all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting the exams in a safe and timely manner.
