Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Corporation Limited has appointed Khurram Mushtaq as the acting chief executive officer (CEO) following the ending of Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat’s term on December 8.
The decision was made during a meeting of PIA’s Board of Directors, where Khurram Mushtaq emerged as the final choice for the role among three nominees, including Amanullah Qureshi and Ammar Ali.
Khurram Mushtaq, one of PIA’s most senior officials, brings extensive experience in aviation to the position. Over his career, he has led key departments within the national carrier, including commercial operations, airport services, flight services, and security and vigilance.
Amir Hayat, who has been serving as CEO on deputation, will complete his term on Sunday. The acting CEO will assume charge immediately following the conclusion of Amir Hayat’s tenure.
