ISLAMABAD (DI NEWS) : Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met with Professor Damir Mukhetdinov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis, during his official visit to the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow, Russia.
Leading a parliamentary delegation on their visit to Moscow from November 27 to 29, 2024, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed his satisfaction with the growing warmth and cooperation between the Muslim world and Russia.
He warmly praised Russia’s strong and principled stance against Islamophobia, thanking the Russian government on behalf of the Pakistan Parliament. He also commended President Putin’s remarks on respecting religious figures of all faiths, underscoring the importance of mutual respect and understanding.
The Speaker acknowledged Russia’s efforts in promoting inter-faith harmony and religious pluralism, recognizing them as vital steps toward peace and unity. Both sides agreed to work together to deepen religious and cultural ties, fostering greater cooperation between their nations.
At the same time, Speaker Sadiq expressed his deep sorrow over the ongoing violence and suffering in Palestine, with both parties standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people, emphasizing the shared desire for peace and justice.
