The Punjab Assembly has passed a bill, which significantly revises the salaries of public representatives, following a majority vote in the assembly session. The bill, presented by Punjab’s Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, brings considerable pay hikes for members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) and other provincial officials. Under the newly approved bill, the salary of MPAs has been raised from Rs76,000 to Rs400,000. China on Tuesday announced a relaxation of its visa-free transit policy, extending the permitted stay for eligible foreign travelers from the original 72 and 144 hours to 240 hours, or 10 days.
