The process of the repatriation of afghan refugees residing illegally in Pakistan will begin today (Tuesday) as the March 31 deadline for the voluntary return has ended. Sources affiliated with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department home department said that the Afghan refugees will be sent back to Afghanistan starting today (April 1). The federal government had last week decided against any extension to the deadline despite requests from the Taliban government. More than a hundred people were injured in different traffic accidents during the occasion of Eid ul Fitr in Punjab’s Taunsa district, relevant authorities have reported. According to the hospital administration, at least 112 injured people were brought to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Moreover, rescue officials informed that most of the people got injured as a result of motorcycle and rickshaw accidents. Tremors were felt in the district Barkhan of Balochistan early on Tuesday, hours after an earthquake jolted Karachi. However, no immediate reports of damage have been received. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.9 and occurred at a depth of 12 kilometres. The epicentre was located 59 kilometres northwest of Barkhan. Earlier on Eid, tremors were also felt in various areas of Karachi around 4pm.
