The Pakistan Navy conducted a two-day port security and harbour defence exercise at Karachi and Port Qasim, involving the Coastal Command, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), the Karachi Port Trust and other relevant institutions. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise aimed to ensure early identification and effective mitigation of potential threats to maritime installations. It also tested the preparedness and coordination capabilities of all participating bodies. Special emphasis was placed on integrating communication systems and command-and-control mechanisms. The Federal Ministry of Finance has approved relief measures for employees retiring on or after 1 July 2025, as stated in a recently issued office memorandum concerning pension matters. According to the memorandum, all federal pensioners will receive an increase in their pensions on an equal basis. Pakistan received $3.21 billion in remittances during July, the first month of the current fiscal year, maintaining the monthly average of over $3 billion, according to official data.
