The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread intermittent rain-windstorms and thundershowers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, northeastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at isolated places. The PMD has warned of possible landslides, flash floods, urban flooding and damage to vulnerable infrastructure during the wet spell. China’s employment situation remained generally stable in the first half of 2026, with 6.95 million new urban jobs created, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said on Wednesday. The number of new urban jobs was unchanged from the same period last year, while the average surveyed urban unemployment rate stood at 5.2% from January to June, the ministry said. During the period, China issued 3.6 billion yuan ($530 million) in unemployment insurance subsidies to help stabilize employment, 900 million yuan in one-off job expansion subsidies and 1.2 billion yuan in skills training subsidies, according to the ministry.
China delivered a self-discharging vessel capable of the world’s fastest speed of cargo self-unloading in east China’s Jiangsu Province, according to the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). The 41,800-tonne vessel measures 215 meters in length, with a molded breadth of 42 meters and a maximum capacity of 29,000 cubic meters.
