Sunita Ahuja has opened up about her marriage to Bollywood actor Govinda, saying she does not forgive easily amid reports of marital strain between the couple.
The 59-year-old internet personality, who is reportedly living separately from Govinda, discussed their nearly four-decade-long marriage during a conversation with Balaji Telefilms.
Asked how she would respond if the Partner star wanted to return, Ahuja said she did not want to comment on the situation but stressed that forgiveness does not come easily to her.
‘I don’t forgive so easily’
“I don’t want to comment on this. I don’t forgive so easily. The word ‘forgiveness’ is not in my dictionary,” Ahuja said.
She added that a person only realises the absence of someone who genuinely loves them after they are gone.
“You do whatever you want to do, and then you come and ask for forgiveness. You only feel the absence of someone who loves you wholeheartedly,” she said.
Ahuja also emphasised the importance of maintaining her self-respect.
“I am a self-respecting woman, and I value my self-respect. I give chances once, twice, or thrice, but after that I am like, ‘Go wherever you want.’ But my self-respect is extremely important to me,” she said.
Reports fuel speculation about marriage
The remarks come amid reports and speculation surrounding Govinda’s personal life.
Govinda has reportedly been accused of having an extramarital relationship with his co-star Komal Swarnkar. The speculation intensified after the two were reportedly spotted travelling together.
