ISLAMABAD (DI NEWS) : Serious infighting has reportedly erupted within factions of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), with sources claiming that Hayat Khan, described as the elder brother of BLA cadre commander “SM Handle Bahot,” was killed in an armed clash involving the Bashir Zeb group.
According to reports circulating from the region, the dispute stems from an escalating power struggle between rival factions over operational control and influence within the militant outfit. The development comes shortly after the reported kidnapping of the Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, allegedly carried out by elements linked to the BRA backed faction inside the BLA on the instructions of Bahot.
Sources further claimed that the abduction was connected to a longstanding tribal dispute involving the Vice Chancellor’s wife’s family and individuals associated with Bahot and Hayat Khan, describing the incident as being driven more by personal grievances than organizational objectives.
It is being claimed that the kidnapping operation was not approved by Bashir Zeb, leading to a swift and reportedly brutal retaliatory response from his faction. Observers monitoring the situation fear that tensions between the rival groups could intensify further in the coming days, with reports suggesting the possibility of additional targeted killings and armed confrontations among competing factions.
No official statement has yet been issued by authorities regarding the reported killing or the kidnapping incident.
