International Cricket Council (ICC) President Jay Shah has deleted a controversial social media post after expressing support for the Indian Army.
Earlier, Shah has come under scrutiny after posting a message in support of the Indian Army, raising concerns over the neutrality of the global cricket governing body. Shah shared a controversial post on social media praising the Indian Armed Forces, prompting critics to question whether the ICC represents the International or Indian Cricket Council.
“Our Armed Forces are our pride, and no words are enough to express their valour and commitment in protecting our motherland and people,” Shah stated.
The post has sparked debate over whether such public displays of national sentiment are appropriate for someone in a key international sporting position, where impartiality is expected.
