United States President Donald Trump has accused Iran of doing everything possible to raise oil prices ahead of the US midterm elections.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump alleged that Iran was spreading ‘false’ reports about attacks and sea mines.
‘More oil passes through Hormuz than before war’
He said more oil was passing through the Strait of Hormuz than before the war began.
Trump reiterated that he would never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.
Earlier, it was reported that the United States and Israel have developed plans for renewed military strikes against Iran after the US midterm elections on November 3, according to reports citing American officials and people familiar with the discussions.
The preparations came as Washington has continued to pressure Tehran over its nuclear programme and control of the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran has made it clear that any new attack would trigger a broader regional response.
