Security forces killed five terrorists and injured two others during a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan, according to security sources.
The operation targeted terrorist hideouts in North Waziristan and surrounding areas after the militants’ movements were monitored.
According to security sources, the security forces conducted the intelligence-based operation after maintaining surveillance on the movement of the militants. The targeted action resulted in the killing of five terrorists, while two others were injured.
The operation forms part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign being conducted under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, which seeks to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace.
President Zardari praises security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces following the operation, commending their bravery and professional capabilities.
The president said five terrorists were killed and two others injured during the intelligence-based operation. He said timely and effective action by security forces was playing a pivotal role in thwarting the designs of terrorist elements.
President Zardari reiterated that counterterrorism operations would continue until the complete elimination of terrorism.
PM Shehbaz vows continued operations
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for successfully eliminating five terrorists. He said the forces had thwarted the terrorists’ nefarious designs through timely action. He maintained that operations against terrorists would continue until terrorism was completely eradicated.
Shehbaz said the complete elimination of terrorism and the establishment of sustainable peace remained priorities under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
Naqvi lauds security forces
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces for their successful operation in North Waziristan.
Naqvi described the personnel involved as brave sons of the soil and heroes of the nation, saying they had sent five Indian-sponsored terrorists to their “logical end.”
The minister lauded the professional capabilities and courage of the security forces, saying the nation takes pride in their bravery and expertise. He also described the forces’ successes against the Khawarij as commendable.
Naqvi said the nation was standing shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.
Abdul Aleem Khan pays tribute
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also paid tribute to the security forces for the successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan. He said the Pakistan Army had once again thwarted the nefarious designs of terrorists and that the entire nation saluted its brave armed forces for the success.
Khan said every conspiracy against Pakistan’s peace and security would be countered with full force. He added that the security forces possessed unbreakable morale and there would be no compromise on peace in the country.
The federal minister said the national resolve would remain steadfast until the elimination of terrorists and their facilitators. He also paid tribute to the martyrs of the homeland and prayed for patience and fortitude for their bereaved families.
