Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar today, where he was briefed on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counter-terrorism operations and security measures along the Pak-Afghan border.
The army chief also reviewed the operational preparedness of formations deployed in the province and commended the high morale, readiness and professional competence of officers and troops.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir received a detailed briefing on the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with particular focus on counter-terrorism operations and border management measures.
He was also apprised of the operational readiness of formations deployed across the province and the measures being taken to strengthen security and manage the Pak-Afghan border.
The army chief praised the high morale and professional competence of officers and troops, acknowledging their steadfast commitment to protecting the country and its people.
Army chief directs formations to remain vigilant
Field Marshal Munir directed the formations to remain vigilant and maintain the highest standards of operational readiness at all times. He said the resolve and morale demonstrated by officers and troops in protecting the country and its people were praiseworthy.
The army chief reiterated that the armed forces, with the unwavering support of the nation, remain committed to defeating terrorism and ensuring enduring peace and stability across the country.
During his visit, Asim Munir also visited the Martyrs’ Monument where he laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha. He paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the homeland and during the war against terrorism.
“The supreme sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten,” Field Marshal Asim Munir said, reaffirming that the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the country would always be remembered.
Corps commander receives army chief
Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, the CDF was received by the Peshawar Corps commander.
The visit comes as security forces continue counter-terrorism operations and border management efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the military leadership emphasising vigilance, operational preparedness and continued efforts to ensure peace and stability.
