The security forces killed 10 militants in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 15 and 17, while six soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out in North Waziristan after reports of militant presence in the area. The security forces effectively targeted a militant hideout, killing six militants in an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR stated.
In another clash in Hangu, four militants were killed.
On September 17, an IED struck a security forces convoy, resulting in the martyrdom of six soldiers, according to the ISPR.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants killed in the operations. The militants had been involved in several terrorist activities in the area, the ISPR stated.
The ISPR said that a sanitisation operation remains under way to clear the area of any possible militant presence.
Under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, operations against terrorism will continue at full pace, with security forces and law-enforcement agencies maintaining their efforts.
The ISPR stated that the sacrifices of the martyred soldiers further strengthen the resolve to protect the country.
