Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Sunday paid tribute to the martyrs of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army (CPV) on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the country’s Fatherland Liberation War, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Monday.
Kim, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, visited the CPV martyrs’ cemetery in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province.
According to the report, Kim paid silent tribute to the CPV martyrs before placing a flower at the grave of Mao Anying. A wreath in Kim’s name was also laid at the monument to the CPV martyrs, it added.
The cemetery spans about 90,000 square meters and commemorates the heroism of the CPV through various art forms, including statues, inscriptions, reliefs and paintings.
