Jiang Zaidong has reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening its all-weather strategic partnership with Pakistan. He said both countries will accelerate the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0 while expanding cooperation in economic development, governance, and regional stability.
The ambassador made these remarks in a signed article marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
China Highlights Economic Progress
Ambassador Jiang said the CPC has guided China’s rapid economic and social transformation under the leadership of Xi Jinping.
He noted that China eliminated extreme rural poverty, accelerated industrialization, and established the world’s largest education, healthcare, and social security systems.
Moreover, he stated that China’s GDP reached 140.2 trillion yuan in 2025. He also highlighted that the economy grew by 5% during the first quarter of this year despite global economic uncertainties.
Support for Global Development Initiatives
The ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting global peace and shared prosperity.
In addition, he highlighted major Chinese initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. He said these frameworks promote international cooperation and sustainable development.
CPEC 2.0 Remains a Key Priority
Jiang described CPEC as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative. He emphasized that the next phase of CPEC will continue to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Furthermore, he said CPEC has attracted more than $25.9 billion in direct investment and created over 260,000 jobs in Pakistan.
Economic Impact of CPEC
According to the ambassador, CPEC has delivered significant infrastructure and energy projects across Pakistan.
The initiative has:
- Added more than 8,000 megawatts of electricity generation capacity.
- Constructed 510 kilometres of expressways.
- Developed 886 kilometres of national transmission lines.
As a result, CPEC has become a major driver of Pakistan’s economic development and connectivity.
