Abbottabad Region, led by Shadab Khan, won the National T20 Cup title after defeating Karachi Region Whites by nine wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday.
After electing to field first, Abbottabad bowled out Karachi Region Whites for 118 in 18.3 overs. Captain Saud Shakeel scored 17 runs, while Saqib Khan made 22. Shan Masood contributed 16 and Haroon Arshad added 13. Karachi’s batting line-up failed to build substantial partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Arshad Iqbal was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets for 28 runs. Shahab Khan claimed two wickets for 18 runs, while Razaullah and captain Shadab Khan took two wickets each.
In reply, Abbottabad reached the 119-run target with ease, finishing on 120 for one in 13.5 overs.
Shahzaib Khan remained unbeaten on 54 from 41 balls, striking three fours and four sixes. Kamran Ghulam provided strong support with an unbeaten 45 from 26 deliveries, including three fours and three sixes.
The pair shared an unbroken second-wicket partnership after the dismissal of Afaq Khan for 13. Abbottabad completed the chase with 37 balls to spare to secure the National T20 Cup crown.
