Research Fellow at the China International Press Communication Center, Muhammad Zameer Asadi, has described Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China as highly significant, stating that it is not merely a formal or diplomatic engagement, but a clear and powerful reaffirmation of the long-standing, strong, and time-tested strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
In a statement, he said that Pakistan-China relations are becoming stronger and more strategically important with the passage of time. Both countries have consistently supported each other during difficult times and have promoted mutual trust, shared interests, and a common vision for regional peace and stability.
According to Zameer Asadi, the Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when rapidly changing geopolitical dynamics at both regional and global levels are creating new challenges and opportunities. In this context, he said, high-level engagements between Pakistan and China will play an important role in further strengthening strategic coordination between the two countries.
He stated that new avenues of cooperation are expected to emerge in various sectors, including economic cooperation, trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, agriculture, energy, and defense. In particular, significant progress is anticipated under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), especially in the areas of industrial cooperation, special economic zones, green energy, and the digital economy.
He further said that China has always proven to be a reliable friend of Pakistan and that bilateral relations are not limited to governments alone, but are also rooted in deep emotional and historical bonds between the peoples of both countries. According to him, the “Iron Brothers” partnership between Pakistan and China is playing a key role in promoting regional peace, economic development, and connectivity.
Zameer Asadi added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit will not only open new dimensions in bilateral relations but will also yield positive outcomes in terms of investment, economic recovery, and regional cooperation. He expressed hope that Pakistan and China will continue to expand their partnership in the coming years and achieve new milestones of shared development and prosperity.
