Iran has warned that its military will target Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility if Israel and the United States attempt regime change in the Islamic Republic, according to a semi-official report from ISNA on Wednesday.
A senior Iranian military official, cited by ISNA, said Tehran would respond decisively to any foreign intervention or conspiracy aimed at toppling the government.
The official specifically named the Dimona nuclear reactor in Israel as a potential target, emphasizing that Iran has the capability to strike key sites if war is imposed.
Protecting sovereignty
The statement highlighted that Iran is prepared to go to any extent to defend its sovereignty and political system. Officials stressed that such a response would be aimed at deterring foreign powers from interfering in the country’s internal affairs.
“This is a clear warning: any attempts to impose regime change will meet with strong and calculated retaliation,” the official said.
Experts say the warning underscores rising tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Targeting a nuclear facility could escalate the situation dramatically, raising concerns about a broader regional war.
