Shahid Kapoor may now be happily married, but the actor once described himself as someone who fell in love “every time” he met a girl.
In past interviews, the Bollywood star candidly opened up about romance, immaturity, and what he called “serious grown-up love.”
Shahid Kapoor, known for his performances in Jab We Met, Haider, Padmaavat and Kabir Singh, is now married to Mira Rajput.
The couple shares two children, Misha and Zain, and Shahid has often spoken about how marriage has marked a new chapter in his personal life.
However, before settling down, the actor was candid about his experiences with love.
‘Every time i met girl, i fell in love’
In an interview with Simi Garewal, Shahid was asked how many times he had fallen in love.
Calling it a “dangerous question,” he admitted, “That’s a difficult question. I can’t answer that. Every time I met a girl I fell in love — whether I was three years old. It is true love.”
The statement highlighted his emotional and romantic outlook during his younger years.
Garewal later reminded him of a 2011 interview on India’s Most Desirable, where he had admitted to being in love twice.
Shahid clarified that the number exceeded his earlier statement, suggesting that his understanding of love had evolved over time.
When asked to define “serious grown-up love,” Shahid appeared uncertain.
“That hasn’t happened yet. I don’t think I have grown up very much. Serious grown-up love, what is that?” he responded.
He added that in his past relationships, one of the partners had always been immature. “No, that hasn’t happened to me yet. One of us has always been immature. I don’t have that because that would be for keeps,” he said.
His remarks reflected a candid admission about emotional growth and maturity.
Recent work and upcoming projects
On the professional front, Shahid recently received appreciation for his film O’Romeo, based on a story about Mumbai’s Mafia Queens written by Hussain Zaidi.
The film featured Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Tamannaah Bhatia in key roles.
The project marked Shahid’s fourth collaboration with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, following Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon.
He is also set to appear in the upcoming romantic comedy Cocktail 2 alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon.
