CIHC Pak Power Company (Pvt.) Limited, led by Chairman Zhao Bo, has expressed readiness to explore sustainable alternatives for the 300MW Gwadar power project under the China‑Pakistan Economic Corridor, while seeking support from Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to secure an extension of the project’s Financial Closing Date. Despite complying with requirements set by Private Power and Infrastructure Board, including extending its performance guarantee and paying fees, the company says the formal extension letter is pending and has requested government facilitation, reaffirming its commitment to meeting Gwadar’s energy needs and evaluating options like solar power if the coal project faces viability issues.
