Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on a one-day visit, where he was warmly received by the provincial leadership and began a packed schedule focused on development and governance in Balochistan.
The prime minister was received at the airport by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti welcomed him at the airport. During the visit, the prime minister is set to meet political leaders and oversee progress on key development initiatives across the provincial capital.
Development projects to be inaugurated, launched
According to officials, the prime minister will inaugurate several completed projects and lay the foundation stones for new ones in Quetta. These include major initiatives such as the Daanish School project and development work on the N-25 highway.
Several additional uplift schemes are also scheduled to be launched as part of the federal government’s development agenda for Balochistan.
Following his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proceeded to the Governor House, where Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel received him.

A guard of honour was presented to the prime minister at the Governor House, marking the formal reception.
High-level meeting on Balochistan
A meeting was held between the prime minister and Governor Mandokhel, during which the governor briefed him on provincial affairs. The discussion covered ongoing development projects, administrative matters, and overall progress in Balochistan.
CM Bugti was also present during the meeting, reflecting close coordination between the federal and provincial governments.
Several senior federal ministers attended the meeting, including Ahsan Iqbal, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Rana Sanaullah.
Local political leaders from Balochistan were also present, contributing to discussions on development priorities and governance challenges in the province.
Focus on development, political engagement
Officials said the prime minister’s visit underscores the federal government’s focus on accelerating development in Balochistan. Engagement with political leadership and oversight of major projects are aimed at improving infrastructure and public services.
The visit is expected to strengthen coordination between Islamabad and Quetta on long-term development and stability in the province.
