Bollywood actors Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra have officially announced the name of their newborn daughter.
On Friday, the couple took to Instagram to share a tender photo of their baby’s tiny feet wrapped in woollen socks, recreating their pregnancy announcement style.
Alongside the picture, they wrote, “From our prayers, to our arms🙏🏻 our divine blessing, our princess, Saraayah Malhotra सरायाह मल्होत्रा.” The heartfelt post immediately drew affectionate reactions from fans and friends.
Meaning behind name Saraayah
Although the couple did not explain how they chose the name, multiple sources suggest “Saraayah” may be inspired by the Hebrew word “Sarah,” meaning “princess.” Fans praised the name’s beauty, with one user commenting, “Such a beautiful name ‘SARAAYAH MALHOTRA.’”
Karan Johar also reacted to the announcement, sending blessings to the couple and their “little munchkin.”
Closer look at arrival of baby Saraayah
Sidharth and Kiara welcomed their daughter on July 15, sharing the joyous news with a post that read, “Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a baby girl.”
Shortly after, they issued a follow-up note asking the media to respect their child’s privacy: “As we take our first steps into this new journey of parenthood, we hope to enjoy it intimately as a family… No photos please, only blessings.”
The couple, who married in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in 2023, previously starred together in the 2021 war drama Shershaah, where their on-screen chemistry won massive praise.
What’s next for Kiara and Sidharth?
Kiara was last seen in the action-packed spy thriller War 2, also starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film received mixed reviews. She is now gearing up for the highly anticipated Don remake opposite Ranveer Singh.
Sidharth most recently appeared in Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Maddock Films. The film, which hit theatres on August 29, featured Janhvi Kapoor. His next project is a horror film starring Tamannaah Bhatia.
