Mahira Khan has clarified that she has no plans to enter politics, saying she was “not created for it” despite being vocal during the brief Pakistan-India conflict in May 2025.
The actress shared these views during her appearance on a programme on a private TV channel where she discussed her career, her upcoming film Neelofar, and her past experience working in India. Her remarks offered a rare, candid look into her personal beliefs, patriotism, and industry relationships.
Mahira Khan said she is excited about her upcoming romantic film Neelofar, adding that her journey in showbiz has been full of learning and gratitude. She once again praised Shah Rukh Khan, describing her experience of working in India as “good” and calling herself “lucky” for having the chance to act alongside such a major star.
The actress added that she has already said nearly everything she wants to say about Shah Rukh Khan, and the remaining details are personal and not something she intends to discuss publicly.
Speaking up during Pakistan–India tensions
Responding to a question, Mahira said that voicing support for Pakistan during the short war between Pakistan and India in May 2025 was both her duty and her passion.
She acknowledged that her remarks may have upset some Indian fans but made it clear that this does not concern her, as she will never compromise on her country.
Mahira emphasised that just as Indians prioritise their homeland, Pakistan comes above everything for her during times of conflict.
She shared that she expressed her patriotism openly because it was the right thing to do, regardless of criticism.
Praise for Shah Rukh, Fawad and Humayun
Mahira noted that big stars like Shah Rukh Khan often carry a surprising sense of humility, something she admires deeply.
She said Fawad Khan and Humayun Saeed share the same humble nature, adding that although all three are major celebrities, they remain grounded and respectful.
‘Politics is not for me’
When asked whether she plans to enter politics, Mahira responded firmly that she has no such intention. She said she was not made for politics and neither her views nor her personality align with the political arena.
Mahira added that she does not believe she is meant for politics, nor does she think politics is suited for her. She said she is content in her world and wishes to continue focusing on her craft.
