Pakistan’s cricketer Salman Ali Agha shared insights into the team’s performance, challenges, and strategies as the national side prepares for upcoming tri-nation series.
Speaking about the T20 format, Agha admitted that ‘bowling together with Saim in T20s is challenging’. However, he stressed the value of all-rounders in the team, noting, “When you have all-rounders who can bowl four overs, why not use them?” He also praised teammates like Faheem Ashraf and Nawaz, calling them ‘complete bowlers and accomplished batters’.
Reflecting on Pakistan’s recent successes, Agha said the team aims to maintain the momentum from their One-Day International performances. “Every upcoming series is part of our preparation for the World Cup,” he said. Agha acknowledged that cricket comes with ups and downs but expressed confidence in his efforts: ‘I will try to keep my form consistent’.
Discussing the team’s batting, the captain highlighted the strength of the lower-order, while noting that the middle order still needs improvement. He hinted that Abdul Samad could get a chance at the crucial number six position.
Agha also commented on the atmosphere in home matches, saying, ‘We always get excellent support from the crowd in Pindi’. He cautioned against underestimating any team in the upcoming three-nation tournament and emphasized giving all players a chance to perform.
