LAHORE: Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Train, the first electric rail transit project under CPEC, celebrated its 5th anniversary of successful operations with a ceremony at its Harbanspura depot. The event highlighted the project’s role in providing safe, efficient, and uninterrupted transport, while symbolizing the enduring Pakistan-China friendship. Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren emphasized that the Orange Line is a result of mutual investment and cooperation—not a gift—and praised its contribution to public welfare and environmental improvement. Officials also acknowledged the team’s efforts in maintaining services despite challenges, and a commemorative plaque marking 270 million passengers was unveiled, followed by awards and celebrations.
