KARACHI : At least seven passengers were burnt alive when a coach caught fire after colliding with a truck laden with gas cylinder at the Makran Coastal Highway on late Wednesday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the accident occurred near near Kund Malir Nali Utrai on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan where a truck laden with gas cylinder collided with a passenger coach after which the coach caught fire due to which seven people were burnt alive.
A heavy contingent of police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth, Karachi. Police have also started investigation.
According to eye-witnesses, the accident occurred due to over-speeding.
Road accidents are quite common in Pakistan, making it one of the hazardous countries. Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
