President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Qatar on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to attend the World Social Development Conference.
President Zardari and his delegation were received at Doha’s Hamad International Airport by senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar. He was presented with a bouquet of flowers upon arrival, marking the beginning of his official engagements in the Gulf nation.
During the conference, President Zardari will deliver a keynote address to the international community, outlining Pakistan’s progress in social protection, health, education, and sustainable development.

He is expected to underscore the government’s commitment to inclusive economic growth, emphasizing the country’s long-term vision for equitable social welfare and human capital development.
Highlighting BISP
The President will particularly highlight the success of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s social protection framework.
BISP has played a crucial role in reducing poverty, empowering women, and supporting vulnerable communities, aligning closely with Pakistan’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Meetings with Global and Regional Leaders
President Zardari will also discuss Pakistan’s efforts toward launching the Doha Alliance, the Social Protection and Jobs Compact, and other development projects designed to foster collaboration in line with global development commitments.
He will stress the importance of mobilizing financial resources for social and environmental transformation, including the SDG Stimulus and related international initiatives.
On the sidelines of the conference, President Zardari is scheduled to hold meetings with regional and global leaders, as well as heads of international organizations, to strengthen Pakistan’s partnerships in the areas of social progress, sustainable growth, and economic cooperation.
