Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated on Thursday the Youth Laptop Scheme 2025, promising to distribute 100,000 laptops to students based on merit.
Speaking at the ceremony, he emphasised that Pakistan must advance in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The prime minister announced that Saudi Arabia had offered to provide education in AI and information technology to Pakistani youth.
He maintained that millions of students from Pakistan will be sent to Saudi Arabia for training, adding that the Saudi government also pledged to offer significant opportunities to Pakistani professionals in AI. Trained Pakistani personnel will take part in Saudi Vision 2030 projects and the FIFA World Cup, he added.
The premier has paid tribute to the sacrifices of national martyrs and urged young people to build a Pakistan worthy of the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
PM Shehbaz highlighted the nation’s pride in its talented students and expressed commitment to provide all resources to support the younger generation in innovation and technology.
He acknowledged the support of Saudi Arabia in fostering cooperation and development in AI and IT. The prime minister stated that the scheme would enable girls and boys across the country to receive quality education and training, creating a skilled workforce ready for global opportunities.
PM Shehbaz has reaffirmed his resolve to elevate the nation to new heights through education and innovation.
Paying homage to the sacrifices of national martyrs, the Prime Minister urged the youth to transform Pakistan into a nation greater than ever, fulfilling the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
It is pertinent to note that during the distribution, students called out their names upon receiving laptops, expressing joy and gratitude.
